Channel Islands
The Channel Islands, a breathtaking chain of eight islands off the coast of Southern California, offer a wealth of natural beauty, unique ecosystems, and opportunities for outdoor adventure. Stretching from Point Conception to San Diego, five of these islands—Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, Santa Barbara, and Anacapa—are protected as part of the Channel Islands National Park, while the remaining three, San Clemente, San Nicolas, and Santa Catalina, have their own distinct status and uses. Known as the "Galápagos of North America" for their extraordinary biodiversity, the Channel Islands are home to hundreds of unique species and natural features that make them an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts, marine biologists, and travelers seeking a scenic escape.
